KSU student charged with aggravated burglary and robbery

A Kent State University student was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and robbery after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment at Campus Point Tuesday.

Irayel R. Williams, 18, of Beachwood was charged with a second-degree misdemeanor of resisting arrest. The burglary and robbery are classified as first-degree felonies.

According to a Record-Courier article, Williams assaulted his ex-girlfriend and left the apartment but returned. He then stole several items and fled on a bicycle.

Williams was arraigned Wednesday and his bond was set at $15,000 cash.

According to the criminal summary, Williams is not allowed to contact the victim.

A preliminary hearing for the felonies is set for Nov. 4 at the Portage County Municipal Court with Judge Mark K. Fankhauser.
