All around the Kent campus students, faculty, alumni and the community are gearing up for homecoming 2011.
This, just like in years past, events for the celebration begin on Thursday and continue throughout the weekend. One event a lot of people put a lot of work into is the homecoming parade.
The parade begins on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Midway Drive on campus and makes its way down Route 59 and end near Franklin Avenue. All side streets leading to route 59 will be closed for the parade ceremony.
This year there are 81 entries for the event. This includes floats, cars, marching bands and walking units. Prizes will be awarded to each category of the entries.
More homecoming events will follow the conclusion of the parade.
For more information about all homecoming events on Saturday, October 15, go to www.kent.edu and search Homecoming.
