After enjoying Bruno Mars, Bo Burnham and 30 Seconds to Mars as well as a wide variety of other big names in the entertainment world, Kent students will be able to cross Mike Posner off their list of popular performers to see live.

Posner will be performing in the MACC on September 17. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8. Tickets are on sale at $15 for students and $25 for the public.

Posner made his musical debut in 2009 with a mix tape titled “A Matter of Time”, which he released from his dorm room at Duke University. The tape was released under the name “Mike Posner & the Brain Trust,” the latter referring to his supporters.

In 2010, Posner released his first studio album, “31 Minutes to Takeoff”. Since then, his smooth, techno-pop sound has been climbing the charts with singles like “Cooler Than Me” and “Please Don’t Go.” He’s also done covers of songs by popular artists such as Beyoncé, Coldplay, Adele and Kanye West. Posner also has a second album in the works.
