Why Should I Care?

-Volunteering is important in your community, and the fair is an excellent way to get informed and involved.

On Tuesday Sept. 13, 2011, Kent State will host its annual volunteer fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and second floors of the Student Center.

“The purpose of the volunteer fair is to expose students, faculty, staff and others to the work of non-profits in our surrounding community and make them aware of the needs of those agencies,” said Ann Gosky, senior special assistant for Quality Initiatives and Curriculum.

The organizations will focus on topics including helping the sick and taking care of the area’s elderly and youth populations. Gosky said among the organizations involved are Invisible Children, UNICEF, Alpha Phi Omega and Campus Kitchen.

The fair is open to all Kent State students and members of the surrounding community. Those who would like to register a group should email Ann Gosky at [email protected].
