UPDATE: Female student was released from Robinson Memorial Hospital at 2:15 a.m. Friday with a broken shoulder and collarbone. The student was walking home from an SI session to her apartment at Summit Hill when she was struck.

A female student was hit by a silver Mazda 6 turning onto Janik Drive from East Summit Street around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Four people were in the car at the time of the incident. The victim was lying on the sidewalk when paramedics arrived. An ambulance took her to Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. East Summit Street remains open to traffic.
