Food, food and more food.Last night students were able to get taste of different countries without actually visiting them.The International Village Experience, or known as IVE, sponsored “Taste of the World” that took place at Beall and McDowell halls.

Students got the chance to try recipes from countries all over the world. The recipes came from international students and students who have studied abroad. Those who attended received a passport of recipes that they took to each station or “country” to sample to recipe listed. The recipes were simple and students are able to recreate them right in their dorms.

There were five stations: Germany, Middle East, China, Italy and the United States.

However, the event wasn’t just an opportunity for students to try new foods. The main goal of the event was to give international students the chance to interact with American students. IVE wants international students to feel welcome and to reduce homesickness.

The students who attended the event and visited each station received Beall, McDowell and Van Campen bucks, also known as BMV bucks. They’re similar to raffle tickets where at the end of the semester students with BMV bucks have the opportunity to win prizes.
