Police arrest Stow man for robberies

Cuyahoga Falls Police arrested a man Tuesday morning on charges of aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

According to a press release from the Stow Police, Joe Schratz, 40, from Stow, robbed three businesses in the Stow area.

At around midnight, Schratz threatened a clerk at the Speedway on Fishcreek Road with a gun, took money and then made her get into a cooler.

Later, at 2:38 a.m., Schratz ordered food from the drive-thru Taco Bell on Graham Road then attempted to enter the window. He threatened the clerk with a gun, but she closed the window and hid. Schratz then fled the scene.

Soon after, Stow Police learned that Schratz had threatened a clerk at the Sheetz on Steels Corners at 2:25 a.m. Schratz stared down the clerk before fleeing the scene.

Schratz was found outside a Walgreens in Cuyahoga Falls where police arrested him.
