Home Savings Bank and the Central Portage County Visitor and Convention Bureau will fund the fourth annual Sweet Corn Festival Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at Beckwith Orchard in Kent.

The Kent Lions will sell boiled corn on the cob, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches and slices of peach and apple pie. Beckwith Orchard will offer fresh peaches, whole pies, and fresh corn.

Several craft booths will be available for shoppers, and St. Patrick School of Kent will provide carnival-themed activities for children such as trolley rides, face painting, and a clown.

Musical festivities will begin Saturday at noon with folk duo Two Far gone. Guinevere & Joel Richards will finish the afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. Rio Neon will play folk and jazz music Sunday at noon. The Celtic Clan of Kent will take the stage at 2:30 p.m.

“I anticipate an even better result than the first three years,” Sally Beckwith, an employee of Beckwith orchard, said. “It’s family-friendly and not expensive.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit Kent Lions Club sight projects.
