The Kent State University baseball team suffered a tough loss to the University of Texas in Monday’s final game for the NCAA Austin Regional Title.

The University of Texas scored runs in the first, third, sixth, seventh and eighth innings to defeat the Flashes 5-0 at University of Texas’s UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

A 9-3 loss to the No. 1-seeded Longhorns Sunday evening forced the No. 3-seeded Golden Flashes into Monday’s final showdown.

The Longhorns will advance to a Super Regional series against Arizona State next weekend. The Flashes have yet to win a NCAA regional title.
