It seems some celebrities just can’t keep it together. They shave their heads, they make drunk spectacles of themselves and they leave awkwardly violent voice mails.

Here’s the list of the top five most ridiculous celebrity meltdowns:

1. This list just wouldn’t be complete without party-boy Charlie Sheen.

   His recent endeavors have made his name a constant punchline. Sheen continues making media rounds, including his latest interview with K-Earth 101 FM where Sheen reportedly stated, “I’m just so proud and so honored that the people have stepped forward and elected me as their leader.” Leader of what?!

2. Britney Spears, of course.

   Who can forget when the pop icon went a little, er, awol? In 2007, she walked right in to a hair shop and took a razor to her hair. This was shortly after a series of decisions that raised eyebrows around the world. Luckily, Spears seems to have pulled it together these days.

3. Mel Gibson is a shoe-in.

   The recorded phone conversations he had with Oksana Grigorieva made headlines all summer. He made several physical threats to her and seemingly lost his mind. And this was after he made degrading remarks about Jews and called a female police officer “sugar tits.” It came as a surprise to his many loyal fans, and he’s now unsurprisingly voicing his support for Sheen.

4. Musician and actress Courtney Love has had a roller coaster career filled with meltdowns and freak outs.

   She’s showed up looking like a hot mess for awards shows and performed on stage after clearly drinking unhealthy amounts of alcohol. Yet she often throws the public a curve ball when she pulls it together. Either way, her inability to lock it up places her at number four.

5. Lindsay Lohan stole a necklace?!

   It’s not usual for a person to ask, “What now?” when they see Lohan’s name in the headlines. The actress is continually in the news for her strange choices, including the most recent allegations of her stealing jewelry. It doesn’t help that Lohan’s parents also seem to lose their marbles every once in a while.
