Extend your spring break

Spring break is over, and all across campus, students are dragging their feet to their classes.

Fortunately, there are ways to make that break last just a bit longer.

  • Have a “girls” or “guys night,” and re-enact your spring break. It may still be cold, but you can rent movies that make you feel warm. Try summer classics like “The Sandlot” or “The Parent Trap” or maybe “Into the Blue” or “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” Put your homework aside, make your favorite mixed drinks and relax.
  • Just an hour north of Kent is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s right on Lake Erie and has some great memorabilia (Michael Jackson’s glove) and exhibits. Head up for a day. Grab some lunch by the lake. Trust me, you won’t think you’re in Ohio.
  • Have dinner at Salsitas, Guaca-Moles Mexican Grill or Moe’s Southwest Grill followed by a local concert. The Wood Brothers will be at the Kent Stage Tuesday followed by The Carter Twins & Tony Rio on Thursday and Steve Aoki next Tuesday. It’s a fun way to step away from school, enjoy good food and good music and forget you have that paper due next week.
