reviewed. Holiday lights to brighten downtown during festival
December 3, 2010
Downtown Kent will be lit with all its Christmas lights Saturday for the annual Festival of Lights, and all are welcome to attend.
The event, sponsored by the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce, will start at 5:30 p.m. and end around 7:30 p.m., with musical entertainment by the Kent Roosevelt A.C.E.S. choir. Santa Claus will also be present at 6 p.m. at the Home Savings Plaza on the corner of Main and Water streets.
Lori Wemhoff, executive director of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce, said there’s something for everyone at the festival.
“There will be free cookies and hot chocolate available,” Wemhoff said.
The Kent Junior Mothers and Kent Kiwanis are providing the snacks.
Local merchants will be extending business hours for those who wish to do some Christmas shopping during the event.
