Victory was well worth the wait for Tommie Jo Marisilio as Election Day spilled over into the early hours of this morning.

The Republican candidate for County Commissioner and her eager supporters anxiously waited to hear the final results until just after midnight.

The Tea Party Gathering in the Kent State Ballroom housed a number of Republican supporters, most of whom had been up since 5a.m. working the election polls.

Blackberry updates and the support of her 9- year- old daughter got her through the nervous hours that led to her win.

The group has worked so hard to achieve this Republican victory including hand-delivering their literature to all 45 thousand homes in Portage County.

“SO WHAT WE PROVED IS THAT MONEY DOES NOT BUY ELECTIONS IN PORTAGE COUNTY ANYMORE. WHAT WE PROVED IS THAT FEET ON THE STREET BEAT DOLLARS. AND THAT’S WHAT WE NEEDED TO PROVED SO WE ARE VERY EXCITED. WE’VE ACHIEVED OUR GOAL.”

SOT Marisilio

“I’M EXCITED. I’M HUMBLED. AND I AM VERY PROUD OF ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WORKED HARD TO ACHIEVE THIS VICTORY.”
