The Kent State field hockey team pushed through the semifinal game in the Mid-American Conference Tournament today, beating Central Michigan 4-2.

Senior forward Nicole Leach set the tone of the game early, scoring in the 13th minute off an assist from junior forward Debbie Bell.

Bell then got her own goal in the 24th minute, but Central Michigan (6-14, 2-9 MAC) scored 10 minutes later, making it 2-1 at the half.

Making sure the Flashes had a larger lead, Bell scored again in the 43rd minute. Central Michigan responded in the 52nd minute, but it was too late.

Senior forward Bryn Stevens sealed the deal, scoring in the 57th minute. This marked Stevens’ first collegiate goal.

The Flashes (14-6, 9-2 MAC) will face either Miami or Ohio in the MAC Tournament’s final game on Saturday.
