International and native students explore language and cultures over coffee

In a relaxed setting where students are free to talk about anything and everything, the International Coffee and Conversation Hour strives to provide students with an experience that a classroom can’t.

Every Friday from noon to 1 p.m. on the fourth floor of the library, the International Coffee and Conversation Hour allows international and native students to spak in a casual setting.

Jeanne Smith, director of the writing commons, said conversation hours are more enjoyable for students compared to a classroom because they are non-judgmental and more welcoming.
