As the November 2nd election approaches, the furious fight for the 17th Congressional is heating up. Opponents Jim Graham, Tim Ryan, and Jim Trafficant have less than a week to fight for a seat.

And this one is not only a former Congressman, but a former prisoner.

The race for Congressional District 17, which includes the cities of Ravenna, Kent, Warren and Youngstown, is shaping up to be an interesting one.

Jim Graham has 30 years of experience in healthcare as well as nearly 30 years experience in law enforcement. Although new to the political scene, Graham explains why he’s qualified.

Tim Ryan is currently representing the district and his main focus is helping students receive an affordable higher education.

WELL WE’VE DONE A TON FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS. UH YOU KNOW, MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WENT TO KENT STATE, I THINK ROUGHLY 10 MILLION DOLLARS, UM FOR US PELL GRANTS TO MAKE SURE MORE KIDS CAN AFFORD TO GO TO SCHOOL.
