The Crain Avenue Bridge will be reduced to one lane for pavement seal coating from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.

Traffic flow will change between the eastbound and westbound lanes as work is performed on each.

Kent City Engineer Jim Bowling said motorists should give themselves a few extra minutes to take the alternate route into Kent and avoid the bridge to reduce traffic.

“This should be the last day it’s closed this year,” Bowling said. “It’s a maintenance sealant meant to last 12 months, just until we can get traffic on the new bridge.”
