Roak Zeller is running for State Representative of Ohio’s 68th District.

An issue Zeller feels strongly about is healthcare.

SOT: Roak Zeller

WHAT I’D LIKE TO DO IS HAVE LIABILITY REFORM, WHERE WE HAVE CAPS ON COMPENSATORY DAMAGES.THE LOSSES YOU ACTULLY SUFFERED FROM BAD MEDICAL PRACTICES, BUT CAP THE PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

Jobs and the economy are also other issues Zeller is passionate about.

Now I asked Zeller why he thought college-aged students should vote for him, here is what he had to say.

SOT: Roak Zeller

SO WHAT I’D LIKE TO DO IS I WOULD LIKE TO LOWER OUR TAX BURDEN FOR OUR EMPLOYERS AND OUR OHIOANS SO THAT WE CAN STOP JOBS GOING TO OTHER STATES AND START ATTRACTING JOBS TO THE STATE AND KEEPING OUR STUDENTS HERE.

STANDUP:

NOW ZELLER IS GOING DOOR TO DOOR TRYING TO GAIN SOME LAST MINUTE VOTES BEFORE THE NOVEMBER 2 ELECTION, HIS BIGGEST COMPETITION IS DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE KATHLEEN CLYDE WHO IS A 2008 GRADUATE OF THE OHIO STATE SCHOOL OF LAW.

Clyde has served as Deputy legal Counsel to the speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and worked for the Ohio Secretary of State and the Ohio Senate.

If elected, Clyde hopes to fight for keeping the cost of higher education low.

SOT: Kathleen Clyde

I THINK ITS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE WORK TO CAP HOW WE ARE ABLE TO RAISE TUITION. WE NEED TO WORK VERY HARD TO MAKE SURE TUITION INCREASES ARE EITHER CAPPED COMPLETELY OR CAPPED AT A VERY SMALL AMOUNT.

Also she feels Ohio needs to improve k through 12 education.

SOT: Kathleen Clyde

I THINK ONE THING WE NEED TO DO IS MAKE SURE WE ARE INVESTING IN OUT K-12 EDUCATION SYSTEM AS WELL. THAT’S A VERY HIGH PRORITY OF MINE.

When I asked Clyde the same question about why she thinks college aged student should vote for her, here’s what she had to say..

SOT: Kathleen Clyde

THERE ARE A LOT OF IMPORTANT THINGS THAT THE STATE DOES THAT IMPACT COLLEGE STUDENTS AND I THINK AS A YOUNGER CANDIDATE, I REALLY UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES FACING COLLEGE STUDENTS.

For TV-2 news, I’m Bethany Vietmeier.

An interesting fact about Clyde… If she is elected, she will be the youngest woman in the state legislature.

Critique- B-roll!!! I did not like I had for this package. I wish I would have had more time so I could follow a candidate around more so I could of had more b-roll. Also, I felt like I had so much I could have included in my package, but I had to narrow it down for time. I found it challenging to have a clear focus, and I feel like my package jumps around and does not flow as well as I hoped it would. I think if I created two short package on each candidate, it would have been better.
