Students and faculty remember professor killed in a car accident
October 25, 2010
A benefit for a scholarship in honor of Kent State professor Kimberly Todd-White as well as a celebration of her life will take place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in Oscar Richie Hall in Room 250. Todd-White was killed in a car accident in July 2010.
This benefit will be the first of two events to raise $25,000 in order to create an endowment that can be given out annually instead of a one-time scholarship. The other event will be held in Todd-White’s hometown of East Liverpool, Ohio.
Todd-White’s husband Scott White said the recipient of the scholarship will be someone whose major or minor is Pan-African studies. He or she will also need to have a 3.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate some financial need.
Students and faculty are welcome to attend the event and to read an excerpt of a poem, song or other piece of literature that reminds them of Todd-White or that they think she would have enjoyed.
