According to Triple A’s daily fuel gauge, in the past month, gasoline prices have shot up on average anywhere from $00.19- $00.26 in the Cleveland-Akron region.
For some, the increase in prices has caused them to switch what kind they get.
SOT (Houck): INSTEAD OF USING ULTIMATE GAS, I’VE BEEN USING SILVER A LITTLE BIT MORE. IT’S BEEN AFFECTING MY ENGINE PERFORMANCE A LITTLE BIT ACTUALLY.
For others, it has taken a toll on their traveling.
SOT (Brecha): I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING LESS, I HAVEN’T BEEN GOING HOME REALLY.
According to Gas Buddy, the current Ohio average price for gas is 2 dollars and 75 cents per gallon while the national average is 2 dollars and 82 cents.
STANDUP: ONE PROBLEM FOR SOME MOTORISTS IS THAT THEY HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAVE TO COMMUTE TO WORK OR SCHOOL. THE REASON FOR GAS PRICES INCREASING IS THE DOLLAR BILL IS GETTING WEAKER COMPARED TO OTHER COUNTRIES.
It takes approximately one dollar and forty cents for one Euro.
For one British Pound, it takes about one dollar and fifty-seven cents.
One dollar in Japan gets you about 80.68 Yen, which is the lowest it’s been in the past fifteen years, according to x-rates.com.
Oil is priced in dollars, which is why it costs more for one barrel of it.
So for now, it doesn’t look like things will change much, as far as price is concerned.
For TV2 news, I’m Spenser Etzel.
