Virginia Kendall Park gives students an escape
September 1, 2010
KSU students can head to Virginia Kendall Park in Peninsula for an easy getaway from the everyday grind.
Aside from the gigantic green field that is perfect for romantic picnics, the park boasts the cavernous Ice Box Cave, a great place to cool down after a jog with a beautiful overlook where one can see for miles.
At only 20 minutes away, the park has something for everyone, whether longing for alone time or planning a date with a significant other.
The park contains many trails and is so expansive it’s unlikely to ever stumble upon a fellow hiker. Plus, it is tucked far away from the road so the only sounds are the squeaks and chirps of animals and the rustle of feet on dirt.
