Governor Strickland no longer visiting Kent State

Gov. Ted Strickland will no longer make a stop to speak Monday at the Kiva.

Mark Miller, president of College Democrats, said this is due to a “scheduling conflict.”

In Strickland’s place, however, will be his running mate, Yvette Brown, Democratic candidate for Ohio lieutenant governor. This will be Brown’s second visit to Kent State this semester.

Maryellen O’Shaughnessy, secretary of state candidate, and Mary Jane Trapp, Ohio Supreme Court candidate, will also be in attendance.

All candidates will address the audience beginning at 10 a.m. Monday in the Kiva. A question and answer session will follow.
