Area artist to gather in Akron for cancer benefit
September 8, 2010
Local artists will gather together from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday for this year’s “An Evening for Chuck” benefit concert at the Musica music venue in Akron. The annual pancreatic cancer benefit, now in its fifth year, raises money in honor of Chuck Friedhof, a local businessman who acted as a mentor for many in the area. Started by his son, singer/songwriter Zach, the event brings cancer awareness along with music, food and raffles. A suggested $10 donation at the door will benefit the “Chuck” fund. Carmel Mikol, Kristine Jackson, Tofu Fighters, Winslow and T.M. Gottl will be playing. Bestselling author and vegan chef Isa Chandra Moskowitz will also make an appearance. Zach will headline.
