From the Franklin Hall newsroom on Monday, April 26, I’m Steven Webster, and here’s what’s happening.

Adrian Barker was found guilty of the murder of Kent State student Christopher Kernich by a Portage County jury Friday afternoon. Barker was convicted of murder, felonious murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. Barker’s sentencing date has not been set, but prosecutor Victor Vigluicci said he will recommend the sentence be no less than the state required minimum of fifteen years to life.

At least 10 people are dead in Mississippi after a tornado Saturday. Louisiana and Alabama were also affected, with people hurt and buildings destroyed across that area of the South. As cleanup efforts begin, Mississippi’s governor is going to ask for federal aid today.

Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers trounced the Chicago Bulls 121-98. LeBron James scored his fifth triple-double of his playoff career, chalking up 37 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. The Cavaliers lead the best of seven series 4 to 1.

Today, a high of 56, with a 90% chance of precipitation. Tonight, a low around 37. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny in the low fifties.
