A Kent State sophomore art education major’s refusal to share his vodka with a stranger on St. Patrick’s Day left him with a swollen nose.

Corey Conway, a 21-year-old from Aurora, was celebrating with friends on Whitehall Boulevard when the incident occurred.

“We were at my friend’s house and the guy asked me for some of my vodka, and I told him ‘no’ pretty politely,” Conway said.

He said he vaguely knows the suspect, 43-year-old Michael A. Kozlowski, who moved into Conway’s friend’s rooming house a couple months ago.

Conway said the suspect chased after him, but his friends pushed the suspect away.

Police charged Kozlowski with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Conway said he isn’t sure if his nose is broken, but he is thankful that he only received minor injuries.

“It’s kind of weird being in that situation, especially since all the other attacks have been happening,” he said.
