Daschle to speak at Stark

Kyle Nelson

Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle will speak at Kent State Stark Campus on Feb. 22 as part of Stark’s Featured Speaker series.

Daschle will present “Solving the Healthcare Crisis,” a lecture designed to help people understand what the health care debate is about and the best way to get legislation passed.

Daschle is a former senator from South Dakota and also served as both the Senate Democrat majority and minority leader. Originally nominated to head up President Obama’s health care reform policy before withdrawing his name, Daschle now advises a Washington D.C. law firm on public policy issues and also co-leads the Bipartisan Policy Center, which released an outline for health reform to ensure affordable, quality coverage for each American.

Tickets are required for this event and can be picked up for free beginning at 8 a.m. today at the Kent State Stark information desk in Main Hall. Phone reservations are not accepted.
