H1N1 vaccine available today on campusResidence hall students can get the H1N1 vaccine for free until 4 p.m. today in Eastway. The university received its first shipment of the vaccine in the flu-mist form, according to Kent State’s flu Web site. The flu-mist requires additional screening.
KSU responds to spread of swine fluIn response to the increased spread of swine flu, Kent State has activated its Emergency Operation Center. “It’s an aid in dealing with emergencies,” said Emily Vincent, director of university media relations. “It’s typically used by police and fire in some sort of emergency situation. It allows people in the structure to respond and make decisions quickly.”
H1N1 spreads as expectedMore cases of swine flu have been confirmed at Kent State. “In terms of H1N1, it is widespread,” said Emily Vincent, director of University Media Relations. “The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has declared the state is one of the states that has widespread cases H1N1. We know it’s here. We’ve been preparing for it.”
