Former Kent State English professor William Hildebrand will speak about his new book, “A Most Noble Enterprise: The Story of Kent State University 1910-2010,” at 3:30 p.m. today in Room 1018 of the Library.

The book tells the story of Kent State’s first 100 years.

It takes you through “a normal school day in 1910, the evolution from college to university, the tragedy of May 4 and to the present,” Hildebrand said.

“Some funny things happened on the way to Kent’s 100th birthday,” he said. Hildebrand will share these amusing moments as well as “some insights into Kent’s intimate history.”

Hildebrand has been working on “A Most Noble Enterprise” for nearly four years and said he is relieved it’s finally done. He said he is always happy to talk about Kent.

Hildebrand’s lecture will include a book signing and refreshments.
