Kent-based band hosts release party at Robin Hood this Saturday

After six and a half years together, Ecplytic is releasing its third album, “When the Night Calls it Quits,” on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Robin Hood.

The release party starts at 8 p.m. with bands Tropidelic, David Ullman, JD Eicher and The Goodnights.

The cost is $5 for those 18 to 20 and $3 for 21 and up.

Their new album is available now on iTunes.

Eclyptic started recording its rock-influenced album in September 2007, but it was delayed until August of this year because of money and time issues.

Their popular song “Running in Circles” is featured on the new album, along with others written by singers and guitarists Derik Krouze and Chris Bohrer.

Krouze, Bohrer and drummer Michael Factor are sophomores at Kent State, while bassist Danny Kolliner is a junior at Oberlin College, 45 minutes away, which stands as the route of their time restraints.
