Your View: A real woman is accepting

Dear Editor:

In response to the Tuesday column, “Who is a real woman?”: Anastasia – where did you get your definition of a real woman? Chastitycall.org?

A real woman is someone who knows that women are different. A real woman is someone who knows that some girls are theatrical, opinionated, loud and aggressive and that others are shy, quiet and gentle.

A real woman is someone who knows that there are some people out there who struggle with insecurities, so they resort to revealing clothes and promiscuous actions. A real woman is someone who empathizes with her.

A real woman is someone who knows that the majority of people on MySpace that are “U$3in d!$ 3nglish” can’t even be considered adults, let alone women. A real woman is someone who doesn’t call other women “sluts” because she knows it only makes it OK for men to do it.

A real woman is someone who knows that people are different. and they perceive things differently.

A real woman is someone who has compassion and empathy for people. A real woman is someone who knows that being real is being at peace with yourself and with everyone around you. A real woman is someone who knows that oftentimes, what people dislike about others is usually what they dislike most about themselves.

A real woman doesn’t judge others because she wouldn’t want others to pass judgment on her. A real woman knows that before pleasing a man – or anyone else for that matter – she pleases herself. A real woman knows that it’s about being real, and the gender comes after.

Anastasia, women come from all different kinds of backgrounds. What some perceive as promiscuity others consider prude. Be a real woman, Anastasia, and accept all women, respect all women and love all women.
