Women finish fifth

The Kent State men’s cross country team won the Mid-American Conference Championship today in Athens, while the women’s team finished fifth.

Senior Aiman Scullion placed first and had his second individual victory of the season.

Three other Flashes rounded out the top ten, with junior Scott Hilditch in third, senior Tony Jordanek in fifth and freshman Michael Heller in eighth.

Walk-on junior Alex Lizzarribar finished in second place in the women’s race.

Scullion said the team bringing back the championship was an honor, along with winning the individual competition.

“I thought we ran a great team race,” Scullion said. “Everyone stepped up and getting the individual title was a great bonus.”
