University invites public to discuss Risman renovations
September 20, 2009
The Office of the University Architect is holding two informational meetings in the student center lobby this week to discuss renovation plans for Risman Plaza. Students and staff can attend these meetings, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Thursday.
People who attend will be able to see drawings and hear details about the project, set to start in 2010, that university officials hope will make Risman Plaza more appealing and will make better use of the open space.
The goal is to make a more inviting outdoor area for students, faculty and visitors. Attendants will also learn about how the construction will affect pedestrian and street traffic.
The project is estimated to cost $3.3 million dollars and is expected to be completed by the 2010 Centennial celebrations for Homecoming.
