Hillel, the student Jewish center, was recognized with two excellence awards by the Center for Student Involvement on April 14 – one for Organization Excellence, and the other going to assistant director Michael Levinstein for Organization Advisor Excellence.

“We’re really happy we won it,” Levinstein said on behalf of Hillel regarding the award. Levinstein is also the advisor of Kent State’s Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity.

The Hillel building will celebrate its grand opening on Sept. 13, when it will be named the Cohn Jewish Student Center in recognition of a gift from Gary and Lisa Cohn. The gift was made in honor of Gary’s parents, Victor and Ellen Cohn. Victor is a former Hillel trustee at Kent State.
