The new Undergraduate Student Government senator for the College of Communication and Information was announced yesterday after a two-day delay.

Kevin Stone, a freshman photojournalism major, will lead the college beginning April 16 when he and eight other college senators will be sworn in to office.

Stone ran as a write-in candidate after he saw the position was left vacant on the ballot.

The senator-elect won the position with 45 write-in votes to beat junior broadcast journalism major Randall Ziemnik, another write-in candidate who received 21 votes.

While all other positions were announced Monday, the race for senator of College of Communication and Information was delayed because USG adviser Donna Carlton had to personally go through all of the votes to ensure their legitimacy.
