Kent State’s baseball team will look to get back on the winning track when it hosts Malone College at 3 p.m. today at Schoonover Stadium.

The Flashes (16-6) are coming off a 4-2 loss at Ball State on Saturday, which was their first Mid-American Conference loss of the season.

Malone (19-4) competes in the American Mideast Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Pioneers are led by senior first baseman Ryan Baechel, who has a .452 batting average, two home runs and 32 runs batted in on the season. Five other Malone hitters have a batting average above .350 this season.

Kent State is led by senior first baseman Greg Rohan. The defending MAC Player of the Year has a .379 batting average, with seven home runs and 26 RBIs this season.

The Flashes are 4-0 all-time against Malone and defeated the Pioneers 16-4 last season. The team hit five home runs in that game, three of which came in a seven-run third inning that broke the game open.
