Kent State will be celebrating the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with CNN political analyst Roland S. Martin from 1-4 p.m. today at the Student Center Ballroom.

The theme of Martin’s speech is “Realizing the Dream.” Martin, named by Essence Magazine as one of the most 150 influential black Americans, intends to commemorate and discuss the significance and continued relevance of King’s everlasting achievements.

Also participating in the celebration are Kent State’s Voices of Testimony and 25 members of the Shaw High School Marching Band, which performed at the 2008 Olympics.
