‘The biggest screen in town’
January 30, 2009
Students interested in a lifelike experience at the Super Bowl can stroll down to the Kent Stage for Sunday’s game.
The downtown theater will boast a 30-foot wide projection screen for Sunday’s game, said owners Tom Simpson and Richele Charlton. The doors will open at 3 p.m., and it is free admission for everyone. The bar and concession stand will be open all day, and there will be prize giveaways from beer companies.
“People should come downtown with their friends, and have a good time,” Charlton said. The Kent Stage has hosted similar events in the past and has received sizable crowds.
“We haven’t done the Super Bowl before, but we did do Kent State basketball playoffs and a couple of Browns games last year,” she said. “It was really packed for the basketball game.”
