Authentic Pittsburgh Kielbasa

In honor of the Pittsburgh Steelers, this recipe combines some of the city’s favorites, including Iron City beer and Heinz chilli sauce.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

-One pound kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch coins

-One can (12 ounces) Iron City Beer

-One jar Heinz chili sauce

-One small can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained

-3/4 cup brown sugar

Kielbasa: Pour beer into a large skillet. Bring to a simmer and add kielbasa pieces. Cook sausage for three minutes per side. Drain. Serve warm with dipping sauce

(recipe follows).

Dipping Sauce: Mix the chili sauce, crushed pineapple and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for five minutes. Serve warm with kielbasa slices. Serves 10.
