Steve Michael, vice provost for diversity, has accepted a position as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Arcadia University in Philadelphia.

He will begin his duties July 1, 2009.

Michael has been in his position for more than six years and is Kent State’s chief diversity officer. In his time at Kent State, he led the establishment of Kent State’s office in Beijing and supervised International Affairs, among other things.

In a press release, Provost Robert Frank said the university wishes Michael “continued success in his new role at Arcadia University.”
