The deadline to register a team of six is 5 p.m. Wednesday in the rec center Pro Shop. Registration is free, and space is limited to only 50 teams. G.U.T.S. takes place at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

G.U.T.S. is based on the hit Nickelodeon action-sports game show and gives teams a chance to win a glowing piece of that radical rock. Each player will participate in one of six events.

Among the six events, the Aggro Crag is the TV show’s most well-known. Kent State has its own version of the Aggro Crag with the climbing wall.

Last year’s winning team, Vendetta, will be back this year to try and reclaim its title. Vendetta would have won two years ago, but a scoring error that denied the team its title. The players still said they won two years in a row and want to three-peat.

Ryan Montgomery, senior business management major and Vendetta team member, is looking to win the Madd Trax.

“I learned I was a mean crab walker,” he said.

Vendetta’s Aggro Crag trophy is on top of the entertainment center at its apartment.

“It’s looking a little lonely though, so hopefully we can get it a friend this weekend,” Montgomery said.

Preregistered teams can purchase personalized T-Shirts with their team name for $10. T-shirts will be available the day of the event for $12. Proceeds from the T-shirts will go to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Those who don’t want to participate can still enjoy Nintendo Wii challenges, pizza-eating contests and free food during the night’s activities.

Registration begins at 9:30 p.m., and teams must be checked in by 10:15 p.m. or risk disqualification. Opening ceremonies start at 10:30 p.m., with closing ceremonies at 2 a.m. to announce the winning team.
