Volleyball falls 3-1 to Central Michigan

The Kent State volleyball team dropped its fourth straight match tonight, losing to Central Michigan 3-1, with sets of 25-13, 25-14, 12-25 and 25-19.

Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Jones led the Flashes (12-7, 2-4 Mid-American Conference) offensively with 11 kills and a service ace. Senior outside hitter Ashley Feutz added 10 kills to help the team.

On defense, the team combined for 62 digs as three Flashes reached for 10 or more digs. Senior outside hitter Vaiva Laniauskas and sophomore libero Kristen Barr both made 12 digs to lead Kent State.

Central Michigan outhit the Flashes with 53 kills to Kent State’s 34. The Chippewas’ Sarah Warner tallied 17 kills and only two hitting errors for a .375 hitting percentage.

Next weekend Kent State will take the road, playing at Ball State at 7 p.m. Friday and Toledo at 3 p.m. Saturday.
