Board of Trustees meets

Ben Wolford

The Board of Trustees met in executive session yesterday, but the topics discussed were not immediately available.

Executive sessions are closed to the public and allowed under provisions in Ohio’s Sunshine Law. The law requires most meetings of administrative agencies to be held in public, but some topics, such as personnel matters, legal actions or collective bargaining, may be discussed in private.

Tom Neumann, associate vice president for university communications and marketing, did not know under which provision of the Sunshine Law the board held executive session.

The Board of Trustees began the meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the Bertram Inn and Conference Center in Aurora, and ended around 4 p.m.

Board committees did not meet, and no votes were taken. Their next regular business meeting is scheduled for Nov. 13 at the Kent Campus.
