Actors Kal Penn and Jurnee Smollett will speak from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the Governance Chambers of the Student Center for Sen. Barack Obama.

According to a press release, they will speak about the presidential election, the importance of the youth vote and how to get involved for change in the community.

Penn’s film credits include “Epic Movie” and “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.” Smollett’s credits include “The Great Debaters.”

Both are active supporters for the campaign and will speak on behalf of Obama throughout the country, said Keary McCarthy, northeast Ohio communications director for the Ohio for Change Campaign.

“I think Jurnee Smollet and Kal Penn offer a unique perspective and will energize young voters about the November 4 election,”

McCarthy said.
