Volleyball falls to Air Force

In its first match of the Air Force Academy tournament, the Kent State volleyball team lost to host Air Force, 3-2 on Friday.
The Flashes (5-2) won the first game of the match 25-19. Air Force took the next two games 25-16, 25-23. Kent State rebounded in the fourth game, winning 25-17 and forcing a fifth game. In the final game, the Falcons edged the Flashes 16-14 to take the match.
Senior outside hitter Ashley Feutz led the Flashes offensively with 16 kills and a .351 hitting percentage. Sophomore libero Kirsten Barr helped the team on defense by making 23 digs.
Air Force had four women in the double digits for kills. As a team, the Falcons racked up 67 kills in the match, 16 more than Kent State.
The Flashes will play North Carolina Central (0-7) next at 7 p.m. today.
