USG aims to spend money more efficiently

Undergraduate Student Government hopes to make directors and senators more financially accountable by allocating $10,000 of the budget for special projects.

In the past, executive director Jonathan Bey said members often asked for more money than was necessary, which meant the leftover money sat idle.

When this year’s budget was made, Bey allotted money for annual USG-sponsored projects. Then $10,000 was set aside for miscellaneous projects.

“That way, they’ll also have to come through here and everybody will have to agree that the money is worthy of being spent on it,” he said.
