With 65 days left until election day on Nov. 4, the Democratic National Convention kicks off today in the mile high city of Denver.

The four day event will culminate in the formal declaration of Sen. Barack Obama as the party’s nominee on Thursday, when Obama will address a crowd of 75,000 people.

Building up to Thursday, Obama’s wife Michelle, former opponent Sen. Hillary Clinton, vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden and other major party leaders, including former presidents Carter and Clinton, will tell the hundreds of delegates and the nation why they think Obama should lead the country.
