Banner system shut down for upgrade

The Banner system will be shut down Friday at midnight until Sunday for updates.

The system will be undergoing a mandatory upgrade. However, the way students view and use Banner will not change.

The upgrades will optimize the Banner system, allowing the university to use programs that couldn’t be used with the old system.

“These are enhancements we can take advantage of,” said Barb Boltz, project director for enrollment data and system support.

Boltz said there is a possibility the system could be down longer than expected, but it is not likely because there have been five or six test runs of the new software and upgrades are expected to go smoothly.
