Tuscarawas campus will host Todd Crandell at 7 p.m. in the Founders Hall Auditorium as part of the Voices of Distinction Series.

Crandell, a former drug addict, is the founder and executive director of Racing for Recovery, a nonprofit organization with a mission to prevent all forms of substance abuse by promoting a lifestyle of fitness and health for those affected by addiction, according to the organization’s Web site.

Pam Patacca, public relations coordinator at Tuscarawas campus, said she believes Crandell’s story of overcoming addiction will be very insightful and a great example of the power of positive thinking.

“We are expecting a full house,” Patacca said. However, a ticket is required to attend the event.

Crandell is scheduled to speak tonight for an hour, and a public reception will immediately follow his speech. He will be available at the reception to meet people and sign copies of his book, “Racing for Recovery: Addict to Ironman.”
