The Kent State women’s golf team will go into the final round of tomorrow’s Lady Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, P.R., with the lead after shooting a team score of 287 Monday.

The Flashes went into the second round in eighth place, but the strong second day put the No. 14 ranked nationally Golden Flashes one shot ahead of LSU and two shots ahead of Arkansas.

Individually, senior Kira Miexner remains tied for second after shooting a 1-under-par 71 on the day. She sits at 3-under-par, three shots below Arkansas’s Stacey Lewis. Senior Tara Delaney and junior Kirby Dreher are tied at 11th at 3-over-par. Dreher went into the day at 4-over, but a 71 Monday moved her up in the leaderboard.

The third and final round begins Tuesday at 7:45 a.m., with the final 18 holes of the tournament.
