Los Angeles Times photojournalist Don Bartletti will speak about migrant workers and “migration for survival” at 7 tonight in the Kiva.

Bartletti is the first speaker for this year’s Gerald H. Read Distinguished Lecture Series. The series will focus on migration and immigration.

The Times and other newspapers have published hundreds of his photos and “Enrique’s Journey,” his story about a migrant looking for his mother in the United States, won a Pulitzer Prize in 2003.

The Read series will also hold the National Issues Forum “The New Challenges of American Immigration: What Should We Do?” at 2 p.m Nov. 13 in Room 306 of the Student Center.

Following the forum, China Blue, a movie about workers in a blue jeans factory and globalization, will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Kiva.
